Faux-Fresco is a unique process using your favorite poster or photo. I apply the image to a canvas. After mounting the image to the canvas, different plasters are applied to give the canvas that old world look. The plasters are then enhanced by using antique glazes to complement the colors already found in the poster or picture.
At completion the canvas looks like a fresco found behind an old plaster wall. I like using a 24 by 36 canvas for the posters. Some posters can be sized to fit a 24 x 30 canvas. A personal photo looks best on a 24 x 18 canvas.
Remember this process emulates that old world look, so I keep the colors earthy!
